Interact with other attendees just as if you were there in person
Corporate events are an important part of company growth. It is a great way to show clients and employees that the company is doing well and that it is interested in promoting its products or services.
However, illness or the inability to travel can sometimes prevent people from attending these events. Telepresence robots offer a solution to this problem. These robots allow users to remotely attend corporate events, and interact with other attendees just as if they were there in person.
The remote user can control the robot's movements, and even see and hear the event through its onboard cameras and speakers.
As a result, telepresence robots offer a convenient way for people to attend corporate events, even when they are unable to travel.

How does the Robot work?
The Double3 Telepresence robot is essentially a very advanced video conferencing device on wheels. It uses high-quality cameras, microphones and speakers and balances upright using technology similar to Segways.
It is controlled remotely using an iPad or desktop computer and allows complete freedom for the user to ‘drive’ around in any given space.
The height of the “head” can also be remotely controlled to cater for sitting or standing conversations.A “park” brake allows extended use of the robot by minimising the amount of battery power being used when in a stationary position.
-
Is the robot easy to use?
Absolutely! Only a very basic level of computer knowledge is required. One, to click on a unique link, and two, to use the mouse to ‘point and click’ to navigate.
No usernames, passwords or complex account signup processes are required.
When your relative or friend logs into the portal using the unique visitor pass URL, they can see and hear what's in front of them, and likewise can talk to others which are heard through the powerful built-in speakers.
By simplifying ‘clicking on the screen” or using the arrow keys on their keyboard, users are able to physically move the robot around. It has spatial technologies to stop the robot from running into objects.
The interface is fast, very intuitive and easy to learn and use.
-
How many people can use the robot?
You can issue as many visitor passes as you wish, however only one person can physically drive the robot at any given time. HOWEVER, the driver of the robot can invite up to 4 additional “view only” visitors, who can join the session much like a zoom meeting on steroids.
Just remember that only the initiator can drive the robot and this cannot be delegated to another viewer (yet!).
-
How long does the robot battery last?
The device will operate for 3-4 hours on battery. We always recommend having it placed in its drive-in charge dock where possible in a place where people can mingle or at a position on a table to maximise use time.
-
Can I connect the robot via 4G LTE?
The robot includes an attached Optus 4G-LTE modem and unlimited data package to continuous stream all night long. Check Optus coverage maps here.
Should the 4G reception be poor at your location, you can also connect it to an alternative WiFi network, OR hot-spot it to another phone on a different cellular network if required.
-
How does my remote guests “Tele-In”?
- You issue remote users “visitor” passes to dial directly into the robot
- From anywhere in the world, remote users can log into the robot to attend your event.
-
What surfaces can I drive on?
The robots are primarily designed for indoor/outdoor, flat surface (carpet, tile, wood, pavers, polished concrete, pathway) use.
They will not drive on pavement, road surfaces (small rocks), dirt, grass or sand. Driving on these surfaces will damage the delicate electronics in the drive system, and risk it falling over.
-
Can I use the robot outdoors?
The robots can be used outdoors in well-lit areas. However extra care needs to undertake when driving in full sunlight as it can affect the proximity sensors.
The robot is NOT weatherproof and any damage from water ingestion will be the responsibility of the renter for repair or replacement.
